Cultural musings written largely as a displacement activity to avoid working on my thesis.

I’m a particle physicist  at the University of Edinburgh, working on the LHCb experiment. I am currently researching the potential for observing new physics in b->s penguin decays. I have also worked on the LHCb particle identification system. Not that any of this is likely to come up.

I play in Diva Abrasiva, an experimental/improvisational band based in Edinburgh.

Most of this is no longer true; my thesis is finished, so this blog is now a way for me to fill my days while I seek gainful employment.
